Sometimes our first impressions aren't always accurate. Seeing as how it's the beginning of a new year I thought I would do a bit of a recap going over all the new products I tested out for the blog this past year and let you know what I ended up loving and would potentially repurchase, what I would avoid in the future and the items that were just okay. I'm including everything from all the "haul" posts and a few other odds and ends that were purchased along the way. I'm not going to go into too much detail because there's a lot to get through since I did an obscene amount of shopping this past year so let's jump right into it!
Note: Due to the length of this post I had to format a certain way so it wouldn't be 10 miles of scrolling but still show photos of the products so you know exactly what I'm talking about. To see my thoughts on a product click the image and the text should appear but if you're on mobile and the text isn't showing up there should be a tiny dot on the bottom right hand corner, tap that and the text should appear. To exit the lightbox click the "X" in the upper right hand corner. Links to products are hyperlinked where it says "hit," "miss" or "meh" in case you are interested in checking something out.
There's a lot of Charlotte Tilbury in this section so I wanted to include a special discount; $15 off your purchase of $75 or more! All you have to do is use this link that I'm providing (this is an affiliate link that'll give me a discount if you make a purchase but I won't make any money off of it). Ts & Cs: offer valid for new customers only and for US only.
I did a stand alone post on my first foray into The Ordinary but still I wanted to include these as well.
New Eyeshadows from Makeup Graveyard Vol. 1
Didn't want to leave out these four eyeshadow palettes since they were new to me in 2017 so I'm including them here.
These last two sections are my most recent purchases and haven't been used a much (if at all) as the previous items but I still wanted to include them.
Fall Beauty Haul Part 2
As I said, I didn't go into too much detail on every item since this is such a collosal list of items but if you have any specific questions on a particular product please do not hesitate to ask! I've said this numerous times already on my blog, hoping the repetition will make it stick better, but I do not want to do so many "haul" posts next year. I have a shopping addiction and go crazy when I see a sale or discount code but then I get overwhelmed with new products and end up overlooking some of my old favorites because I'm too busy trying out new products (I don't know how Temptalia does it). Still going to keep up with the mystery boxes because those are way more fun content wise for me but hopefully less shopping otherwise. I think what I'm going to do is post any new products I do try out on my Instagram that way I do still have a space where I can talk about any new products I do try out but then I won't feel pressured to do a big shopping haul to make it more exciting for the blog (because yes, that does happen).
2017 was a crazy year and I feel like I spent a lot of it squandering trying to figure out what to do with my life and what I'm passionate about and I think I'm slowly getting there. I just want to say a huge thank you to everyone who joined me in this new blogging adventure I started last year and thank you for sticking with me and taking the time to read my blog. It really does mean a lot to me that so many of my friends and family read my blog and care about what I have to say. I started the blog to keep me occupied while I was trying to get my health back on track this past year and figure out what kind of job or career I would be interested in and being able to use the blog as a way to escape all the pressure I put on myself helped me stay sane through everything. I can't wait to see what 2018 has in store for me and I hope you all will continue to hang with me while I figure it out. Okay, mushy moment over. Thank you all so, so much for visiting and I hope that you are having a lovely day and are not too hung over from any partying that may have happened last night. Here's to a Happy New Year!
